The financing includes EUR 1.775 billion in committed facilities and an additional EUR 700 million uncommitted accordion, provided by a syndicate of eleven banks and one institutional fund.
The deal equips maincubes with the capital to refinance its existing portfolio and accelerate the development of new projects. Key initiatives include the construction of the company’s fourth Frankfurt-based data centre (FRA04) and a new 200MW data centre campus in Berlin, with further expansion options. Existing operational sites will also continue to be developed. With a platform totalling around 400 MW, maincubes has firmly established itself as one of Germany’s largest and fastest-growing data centre operators.
Hogan Lovells provided comprehensive support to the lending consortium throughout the transaction, including the due diligence and the full support for the negotiation of the financing documentation.
“This transaction marks a key milestone in maincubes’ next growth phase and highlights the increasing importance of data centres as critical infrastructure. We were delighted to once again support the lending consortium on this complex platform financing and to contribute our expertise in large-scale infrastructure deals,” says Dr. Carla Luh, Head of the German finance practice.
