Russell Tan is a commercial litigator with a practice that focuses on complex commercial litigation, antitrust litigation, alternative dispute resolution, investigations, and business disputes. He has worked on a wide range of disputes involving contract litigation, mass arbitration, employment disputes, ERISA, trade secrets, and products liability. Russell has experience advising clients from the beginning of litigation with factual development and electronic discovery, briefing discovery and advancement of expert themes, through the successful resolution of litigation with dispositive motion practice, alternative dispute resolution, and trial.  

Prior to joining the firm, Russell worked as an associate at another AmLaw100 firm. He earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in May of 2021, also interning for Barnes Jewish Corporation Health and Hospital System during that time. In addition to his commercial practice, Russell keeps an active pro bono practice and enjoys playing golf in his free time.

Represent a global pharmaceutical company in MDL proceedings alleging antitrust conspiracy claims regarding price fixing and customer allocation

Represent a technology company in pursuit of unlawful monopolization, false advertising, and tortious interference claims

Represent a university in DOJ congressional committee antitrust inquiry

Defend a global accounting firm in securities class action litigation based on alleged misleading statements about company financials and internal controls

Advised a U.S.-based clean energy company in the sale of US$1.81bn sale of natural gas pipeline portfolio.

Represented an international pipeline company in breach of contract claim in state court regarding performance during Winter Storm Elliott. 

Represented a global parts manufacturer defending a US$650m lawsuit in federal court involving thousands of personal injury plaintiffs and products liability and warranty claims.

Represented an international pipeline company defending a US$180m breach of contract claim in state court.

Defended a multinational telecommunications holding company in mass arbitration proceedings regarding application of universal and administrative charges.

Defended a real estate investment and development group against claims of fraud, breach of contract, and sexual discrimination brought by a former employee working for industry competitor.
