Rita is a partner in our Environmental and Natural Resources practice and Co‑Head of the Sustainable Finance and Investment practice. She advises on UK and EU law and regulation with a particular focus on climate, sustainability and ESG regulation, as well as cross‑border regulatory compliance. Her work includes advising large multinational corporates, asset managers, private equity firms, banks and insurers on their obligations under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the EU Taxonomy Regulation, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the UK Sustainability Disclosure Requirements (UK SDR), the Task Force on Climate‑related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), ISSB standards and the FCA ESG Sourcebook.
Rita has extensive experience advising clients on the implications of climate, sustainability and ESG laws and regulations across a wide range of sectors, including automotive, energy, consumer, transport and logistics, technology, media and entertainment and pharmaceuticals, as well as financial institutions such as funds, asset managers, private investors, insurers and banks. She helps clients understand and manage the legal risks associated with their approach to complying with these evolving regulatory frameworks, including risks arising both from compliance obligations themselves and from regulatory divergence across jurisdictions.
Rita leads global ESG regulatory implementation projects and supports clients in shaping their ESG strategies and market positioning. She also advises on navigating and operationalising often conflicting ESG regulatory developments and provides regulatory and policy horizon‑scanning services to help clients stay ahead of emerging cross‑border requirements.
Rita is a highly sought‑after speaker at conferences and industry events and a regular contributor to articles and thought leadership on ESG and sustainability issues in the UK, the EU and globally.

Advised various clients on the CSRD ESRS requirements, including on the legal aspects of reporting, double materiality assessments and value chain considerations.

Advised a global mining company on ESG developments and their applicability to, and implications on, the group.
Advised a global manufacturer on its EU-wide ESG compliance project, including on the EU Taxonomy Regulation and CSRD.
